What Happened Next? Interview with Nathan Whitlock

Back in November of last year I was interviewed by the smart, generous, funny writer and podcaster @nathan__whitlock for his series, #WhatHappenedNext. I talked about my writer’s burnout, but also, we laughed a lot. And that is a fine thing indeed.

I haven’t written publicly about having writer’s burnout because frankly I worried that it would look bad for me, professionally. But I also wanted to be able to share with other writers and artists that this thing could happen too–and it would also somehow be okay…. It was great to talk about it with Nathan. And I’m happy to share it with others. Check it out!

Thank you, Nathan, for a lovely interview.

I see glimmers of light after a long long night….

ICYMI: Shelagh Rogers, me and Ann on the Radio

Ann Xu and I had a wonderful radio visit with Shelagh Rogers last month.

Read about or listen to the interview by clicking on the image of Shelagh. 🙂

“She’s a 76-year-old Japanese Canadian woman who’s been living in a supported living situation. Her daughters really wanted her to be there, I think just for peace of mind and safety and all sorts of loving reasons. But Kumiko never felt comfortable there and she was never happy there. She’s a tough older woman with a great deal of fortitude and she just goes on the lam — and this is the adventure of her life.”
