Hiromi Goto Mentor of YA & Genre Fiction at The Writer’s Studio, Vancouver

May 18, 2012 By: Hiromi Category: Blog, News & Reviews

I hope I can be forgiven for writing about myself in the third person….

I’ve just been hired as the newest mentor at Simon Fraser University’s Continuing Education writing program! The term begins in January of 2013. Applicants who are interested in developing their craft and manuscript with me should submit applications this fall. Please see TWS website for details.

Writers who are interested in genre, particularly Fantasy and Science Fiction, and/or YA fiction, this will be an excellent place for you to build community, share experiences, learn from each other, and develop your writerly skills. Slipstream writers, this is a great place for you too!

Not many institutions/writing programs encourage the writing of genre fiction. I think it can be a remarkable vehicle of expression, entertainment, exploration and social criticism. Come and stretch the limits of form and your own thinking. If we can imagine it, we can write it!
