Met with Jean Baird (one of the editors of the anthology, The Heart Does Break, Canadian Writers on Grief and Mourning) for coffee, and midst discussions on writing, poetry, books, family life et al, she mentioned these episodes of “The Nature of Things” that explain neuro-plasticity, and how the brain can change….

Instead of “mind over matter”, it’s more like “mind over mind” or maybe “mind through mind”…. Even knowing that the brain can still change, and is changing, instead of set and fixed, allows for us to first imagine we can shift out of cyclical narratives. From imagination can come action! The debilitating mechanism of Bad Voice can be quieted!

I found the program hopeful, helpful and inspiring!
